Guidance


Lou Irvin Scholarship
The Lou Irvin Scholarship application is now available in Guidance as well as the Student Support Center, Room 108. The Application Deadline is May 1, 2014



Scholarships


CT Hospitality Educational Foundation
Seniors graduating and pursuing a degree in the Culinary Arts or a related field and has been accepted into an accredited culinary school, college or university. Information and applications are available online at www.ctrestaurant.org or in the Guidance Office, rm. 117. Deadline 5/15/14. Online applications are preferred.


CHET Advance Scholarship
High school juniors who attend school in Connecticut and have a GPA of 2.0 or above. Apply online at: www.chetadvance.com. Information is available in the Guidance Office, rm. 117. Deadline - 4/30/14.


The VietCT Inc. Scholarship
Students of Vietnamese descent , CT resident, and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Applications are available in the Guidance Office, rm. 117. Deadline - 6/12/14.


Ruth & Skip Arden Scholarships
Senior in the Career Pathway Program who will be furthering their education. Applications are available in the Guidance Office, rm.117. Deadline 5/9/14.


Chi Eta Phi Sorority
Any high school senior accepted in a Registered Nurse program in the fall of 2014. Information & applications are available in the Guidance Office, rm. 117. deadline - 5/15/14.



Student Activities


Student Financial & Behavioral Obligations
Students interested in participating in the end of the year activities must have met all financial and behavioral obligations prior to purchasing tickets or registering for these events. Please check with your administrators secretary and the library for any current obligations. It is the responsibility of the student to clear obligations. Plan now as there are limited detention and Saturday school opportunities between now and these events.


Activities Planning Board Election Packets
There is still time available for Students interested in either running or applying for a position on the Activities Planning Board. You can pick up an application packet from the student activities office. Completed packets are due no later than Thursday, May 2nd.


Talent Show Tickets
The Multicultural Club Talent Show, featuring 15 special performances will be held this Friday night. Tickets will be sold during all lunch waves ONLY. Ticket cost is $5.00. The first 50 students to purchase tickets will get a FREE t-shirt. This show is going to be one you don't want to miss.


Guest Permission Forms
Students bringing an outside guest to the prom will need to have a completed guest permission form at the time of purchasing tickets. Forms are available in the student activities office room 320, and on MHS Redline.


Senior Prom Tables
Attention Seniors planning on attending the prom...Table selections can be made prior to ticket purchase. Tables will accomodate 8 students only. Please stop by the student activities office, room 322 to see Mrs Wabble for seating arrangements.


Community Service Project
Manchester High will be participating in a state wide community service project in partnership with the Connecticut Association of Schools. There will be Canned Goods Drive on April 21st- 25th, Bring all food donations to the Student Activities Office.


Link Leader Recruitment
Attention all sophomores and juniors...are you interested in becoming a LINK Leader? Well if so, stop by the Student Activities Office or Room 268 to pick up an application. Completed applications are due back by April 25th


Young @ Art Open Mic
Young @ Art will be hosting an Open Mic night every second Wednesday of the month. This exciting event will take place at the Young @ Art studio at 50 Purnell Street from 6-8pm. Come be a part of this exciting new series! Be there, or be silent!
